Tanzania,
a multi-party democracy, enjoys political stability www.tanzaniangov.com. Positioned on the central East African coast,
which is largely immune to climatic extremes, it has a long history of trading
with many nations. Its attractive fiscal environment has opened the country up
to significant foreign investment in recent years. Clear mining legislation has attracted
considerable mineral exploration activity.
The government's commitment to pro-investment and
pro-growth policies has resulted in several mines being developed since the
early 1990s. A growing, modern, infrastructure and an increasingly better
educated workforce have also contributed to Tanzania's appeal.
Much of Tanzania is essentially unexplored by
modern methods. Studies of the country's
geological makeup indicate that there are significant opportunities for the
discovery of gold, diamonds, uranium, precious stones and base metals. Tanzania is already the third-largest gold
producer in Africa, with five new mines having
opened in the last decade. Tanzania is also home to world's largest mined
kimberlite - one of over 300 already discovered in the country.
This stable, peaceful nation is endowed
with an impressive array of untapped mineral wealth, the realisation of which
is a major focus for Clarity's exploration programmes.
