Marcus joined Clarity as
General Manager in November 2008. He is
responsible for the operational management of Clarity Mineral Services and also
for Clarity's service companies in Zimbabwe, including Antech
Laboratories and Tatanga Civil and Structural Engineering.
Marcus moved to South Africa
in 1991 after graduating with a BSc Hons degree in Geology from the
University of Exeter, UK and has pursued a varied career in the minerals
industry. He also has a B. Com degree from the University of South Africa.
Marcus began his
career as a mine geologist at Anglovaal's Loraine Gold Mine. In 1994, he
joined AngloGold where he progressed to Geology Manager
at Tshepong Mine, where he was
responsible for the evolution of a new predictive ore body model for the
developing mine. In 2000, Marcus moved to AngloGold's Corporate
Office, where he was involved in various executive support roles
including development of exploration strategy.
In 2002, he made a career
direction change and joined AngloGold's Corporate Procurement and Supply
Chain team where he was instrumental in the introduction of strategic
sourcing and supply chain best practices globally within the
company. As Procurement Manager, he managed a team of sourcing
specialists for AngloGold's operations in South
Africa, Mali,
Ghana, Guinea and Tanzania.
