Mark Carlson, who has been involved in Clarity Life Sciences since 2006, is a Vice President of AVAC Ltd., an Alberta-based company that invests in innovative entrepreneurs who build the economic viability of Alberta's agri-value, life sciences and renewable resource sectors.

Since 1998, Mark has conducted operational work and strategic planning for emerging technology companies as a mentor as well as both on the "buy side, and sell side" of funding transactions.  Mark was Managing Director of Launchworks Inc.'s Calgary office, a venture capital investment firm focused on software technology investments.  His responsibilities included the identification, review, negotiation and closing of investments.

Prior to joining Launchworks, Mark oversaw a number of venture creation and development projects ranging from capital formation, due diligence, business and strategic partner development, market research, and financial analysis.  Many of these were subject to regulatory and stock exchange acceptance.  His industry experience covers the life sciences, software, agri-food and manufacturing sectors.
