Armed with a BSc degree and a financial background, Morris spent more than 30 years as CEO of family owned companies with various business and mining interests in Zimbabwe. Operating conditions during that time have been trying and often extreme, requiring a great deal of local knowledge, patience and determination.

 The Vubachikwe mine, now owned by Duration Gold, has been operated successfully by the Thompson family for more than 50 years.  It is situated on a major Mining Lease covering almost 1700 hectares of the Gwanda gold belt, which also hosts a number of brownfield properties with potential to become significant producers.
