Sophie, a qualified and accomplished geologist and mining engineer, has six years of laboratory experience, three of which were in the Department of Metallurgy (non ferrous metals) at the University of Liège and three at the international research centre Centre Terre et Pierre (CTP) in Belgium. She subsequently worked for three years in production management at a Bismuth and Molybdenum metallurgical/chemical factory, SIDECH, Belgium. Quality management formed an important part of Sophie’s responsibilities at CTP and at SIDECH and Sophie was responsible for acquiring ISO9001 certifications for both of these establishments. In addition, Sophie has exploration experience totalling five years (as an exploration geologist and running programs as an exploration manager) in countries as diverse as Bolivia, DRC, Mali, Madagascar and Zimbabwe. She, thus, has an acute understanding of the “upstream” field environment, which positions her uniquely well to meet the requirements of Antech’s clients.
