In the first half of 2009 Whetstone has reviewed and consolidated its North American land position with a view to seeking farm out opportunities and relinquishing non prospective ground.
Paul Nagerl, President and CEO, has been working closely with Allan Dolan and the Clarity Minerals team to identify new, more advanced, projects in Africa where the "Clarity connection" gives Whetstone a competitive advantage.
Paul and his team have been creative in securing non dilutive sources of funds, including the sale of portions of the company's significant geophysical data base as well as renting out other assets such as the Eppler Lake field camp to the Manitoba Geological Survey.
The team is focused on "finding the right asset for the current environment" first. Once secured, Whetstone intends to finance off the back of this newly created value.
